Monthly Archives: July 2009

I snapped this image a few weeks back and have been holding to post to for today. It was the biggest flag I’ve ever seen, at least 50 feet in length, and was strung between two hook and latter fire engines over a street in Hoboken, New Jersey. I stood at street level looking directly above me photographing the flag for nearly 45 minutes to capture the light and the position of the flag in the wind just the way I wanted. I have removed the blue sky for presentation. I love the definition of each wrinkle, how the colors pop and the way the light is both reflecting off the near side and shining through the flag.
